Show up so you don't have to SHOW UP

I wonder if many of you are familiar with the term "Imposter syndrome". It basically feeling as if the person you've been all your life is a lie. Like you've been showing up as someone else all your life. I think people get caught up by showing up differently depending on whose life they're in. To some you could be kind and sweet, others a jackass, or an asshole. Now before we dive too deep in this.. you can give people different versions of you while still showing up as your authentic self.
Not everyone deserves your grace, love, or time. The thing about giving people the version of you they deserve is you do it in a way that does not compromise yourself. I don't have the same love and respect for every person I've met, so they don't all see me in the same light. However, I am fair to all and I show up every day as who I can be in peoples lives, and not who they expect me to be. People get misguided in thinking you have to accommodate the needs of every person you encounter. That's just simply not true, and it's also exhausting.
I'm not going to make this a long post because, I know my last one was lengthy.. so let's rap it up here.
I'd like to suggest something that I pray helps someone dealing with finding themselves.
When you're going through the motions of self discovery write down everything someone has told you you are. Whether good or bad. Write it all down and then I want you to write down who you think you are currently. Good or bad. Lastly, I want you to go through everything you wrote down, and find those times in your life you've been those things you've written. This is a lengthy process, however, it's something that will help you see. See who you've been this whole time. This exercise is about being truthful, and if you can't be truthful with yourself.. then who? If you're feeling brave then do it with someone you trust and will be honest with you without cloudy judgement.
Always remember, not everything you or someone else says about you is the truth.
I pray this helps.
